Deion Sanders’ press conference is gathering a lot of talk from analysts, fans, and insiders as his health problems may be forcing him to retire earlier than many expected. The Colorado head coach has led one of the biggest turnarounds in college sports with the Buffaloes, and when he called a press conference with his medical team to provide “updates” on his health, many believe he may be retiring soon.
The press conference itself comes with a lot of flair and pageantry that is expected of Deion Sanders, though not everybody is impressed and only see it as a “PR” move to illicit some sympathy from fans and even his critics given his health battles.
Analyst Jason Whitlock is one of those not buying into it, as he explained in his “Fearless” podcast.
“But this is being unpacked in very dramatic fashion,” Whitlock said. “It seems to be being unpacked in a way that guarantees the most emotional reaction or sympathetic reaction from football fans, from Colorado fans, from Deion’s critics.”
“He seems to be trying to put into place the ultimate defense or pre-emptive PR about him stepping away from football. I’m not a doctor, I’m not gonna play a doctor on this show. I don’t wanna come off as unsympatheric, we don’t know what’s gonna be announced,” he added.

The Buffaloes coach missed recruitment days and team practices as he stayed in his Texas estate as he had been recovering from an undisclosed sickness, which many fans believe to be related to his blood clots that forced him to have two of his toes amputated. However, as it turns out, he was battling a bladder tumor.

As for whether he will be returning to Boulder and resuming his coaching duties, Deion Sanders said he is not going anywhere anytime soon and will be resuming his coaching duties with the Colorado Buffaloes.
“Slowly but surely I built myself up. I’m strong, I’m ready… I’m gonna fill these overalls up like no other,” sanders said.
Deion Sanders also revealed that it hurts when he pees and implored everyone to get themselves checked out because the tumor was revealed as he was getting checked for a different ailment. Sanders also revealed that he lost 25 pounds amid the health battle.
