Shedeur Sanders’ Training Camp Update Sparks Outrage From Fans: “Just Cut Him”, “Others Are Better”

Shedeur Sanders hasn’t played a single minute for the first team at the Cleveland Browns’ training camp, but fans are still questioning his presence on the roster. Sanders completed 20 of 31 passes during the first four practices, recording three touchdowns and zero interceptions, according to a recent ESPN graphic.

The criticism started to pour in at that point.

“Just cut him @Browns he will make it through waivers then you can add him to practice squad,” one wrote.

“Bro. Because he’s a late-round pick and the others are better. Make sense now?” wrote another.

“The Others Are Better??? Hope this Helps,” joked one fan.

“I have, you dont listen. He’s not good. These stats are vs other 4s and 5s,” another wrote.

    “Sanders sucks,“ said one fan.

“Shouldn’t have been drafted ngl,” wrote another user.

“Who do you think he is playing against when he gets those reps? Easy to have good stats against plumbers,” one fan wrote.

The thread featured more similar opinions, while a few college football fans claimed that Sanders is either being mistreated or intentionally buried. Statistical analysis shows he’s on par with the other quarterbacks, although his stats could be better because of the level of competition he is playing against.

Cleveland Browns Must Decide on Shedeur Sanders

The coaching staff in Cleveland needs to make a decision regarding Shedeur Sanders that could shape their entire season.

The pressure is mounting, and the noise is not going to stop, especially considering the last few seasons for the Browns. Fans already believe that Sanders will get his chances only after the current coach, Kevin Stefanski, is sacked.

“He will get reps once the coach gets fired week 7,” one said.

Maintaining Sanders’ exclusion from first-team opportunities runs the risk of offending a vocal and expanding segment of the fan base. Given his effective performances, the limited opportunity doesn’t make a lot of sense.

If an injury or inconsistency occurs later in the preseason, it will place the team in a challenging position. They will have to be open if Sanders isn’t part of the team’s long-term goals, or else the backlash may get worse. But it’s time to act as though he is a part. Even a small number of meaningful reps with the starting lineup would show that the team respects talent and is prepared to develop a quarterback who has demonstrated poise and promise.

Cleveland does not have to select a starter four weeks before kickoff. They do require clarity, though. Sanders is either part of the plan or he is not. They will only get more questions than answers if they keep him in limbo.
