“Ducking The Fever” “Worst Barbie Night Ever”: Fans React As Angel Reese Misses Highly Anticipated Matchup vs Caitlin Clark’s Indiana

The much anticipated showdown between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever had a disappointing update an hour before the game. Angel Reese was ruled out an hour before the game due to a back injury.

This marks the second straight game with Reese sitting out, previously having missed the game against the Seattle Storm.

With this, none of the intended headliners were starting for the matchup on Sunday. But fans appear divided with their reactions after Angel Reese’s injury update. Some even believe that the Sky star was sitting out to avoid an embarrassing home game loss against the Indiana Fever.

“Ducking the Fever since she don’t wanna get that 6th L,” one fan said.

Worst Barbie night ever 😞” another commented.

“She needs to leave this organization,” one fan opined.

But not all fans ended up trolling Angel Reese for a last-minute necessary change on the roster.

“hurt her back from carrying the entire team,” one fan wrote.

“As she should🥰🥰 sit back and rest queen,” another posted.

“Im not mad about this! Dont rush her back! Let her rest and come back when she is completely good not partially,” one fan commented.

Caitlin Clark is also ruled out of the game after suffering from a groin injury right before the All-Star game. She has appeared for only 13 games so far this season of the 25 played by the Fever this season. The team has not given any potential timeline for Clark’s return to the floor as of yet.

Angel Reese wants WNBA to pay them their deserved money

Angel Reese emerged as one of the vocal leaders for WNBA players receiving an equal share from the league’s revenue. Alongside her peers, Reese was seen donning the warm-up shirt bearing the phrase, “Pay Us What You Owe Us.” This was a strong message from the players emphasizing their demands as professional athletes.

Speaking to ESPN’s Elle Duncan, Reese made a strong statement echoing her demands for the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) talks. She said:

“The team revenue. The revenue shares. That’s really important for us. We deserve it.”

The current CBA expires in October and only allocates a small percentage of league’s revenue to player salaries. WNBA shares 9.3% of its revenues with the players, compared to NBA’s 50%.

As the league continues to grow, Reese and other superstars in the league demand all players should be equally compensated for making the league reach it’s current stage of popularity.
