“Now I Gotta Do It Myself”: Shedeur Sanders Confesses to Missing Brother Shilo for One Reason After Cleveland Move

Former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. His brother, safety Shilo Sanders, was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. While they are both excited to start their NFL careers, they no longer have the luxury of living close to each other.

The two brothers played together in Colorado under their father, head coach Deion Sanders. On Saturday, in an interview at Browns training camp, Shedeur Sanders was asked what it has been like adjusting to be away from Shilo. Shedeur said it has not been too different, except for one funny obstacle he had to overcome.

“We talk on FaceTime, so it’s no different. We’re guys, so we’re just gonna be on FaceTime, there’s gonna be no true different, I’ll say,” Shedeur Sanders said. “One thing, he definitely gives me tips and stuff, so I got like the cold press juicer and then like, I been having to do that because he lived like three doors down from me in Colorado and I just walked to his house and get juice.

“Now I gotta do it myself. So, that’s the hardest adjustment with everything. Other than that, I’m thankful for y’all coming out, you know. Thank y’all,” he added.

Shedeur Sanders Impresses at Cleveland Browns Training Camp on Saturday

Before the 2025 NFL draft, it appeared likely that Shedeur Sanders would be a first-round pick and could even have gone in the top 10. However, after a historic draft slide, he is now in a complex QB room in Cleveland. He is in a four-way battle for the starting job with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel. Most projections had Sanders as the QB4 entering training camp.

However, early in the training camp, Sanders has impressed the coaching staff. On Saturday, his first passing attempt resulted in a touchdown.

Saturday was the last day of practice without pads. Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave players the day off on Sunday before things start to ramp up ahead of the team’s first preseason game on Friday.

Fortunately for Sanders, it does not appear that the starting job has been determined. In an interview earlier this offseason, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees said he could see any of the four quarterbacks winning the starting job.
