A lot of UConn players, especially the long-tenured ones, have grown to know legendary head coach Geno Auriemma well. In some cases, they have gotten to know the 12-time national title winner a bit too well. One of these is red shirt senior Azzi Fudd, who is currently dating WNBA rookie and former Huskies teammate Paige Bueckers.
The Huskies star guard hosted the Azzi Fudd basketball camp, and Overtime was there to cover it. There, they asked Fudd to do some impersonations, including teammates KK Arnold and Kelis Fisher, However, it was her impression of her coach that has many people laughing, as it was a spot-on impersonation of Geno Auriemma.
“He’s just like, ‘Like what was that?’ with just his mouth wide open,” she said.

Auriemma is known to be a very strict coach who demands the very best from his players and scolds them for playing below his standards. This side of the coaching legend was what many fans saw when Fudd impersonated him.
She then impersonated Arnold’s “Hey y’all, hey girly pop” catchphrase and then tried to impersonate Fisher, but admitted she could not quite get Fisher’s impersonation correctly. A few fans did find her KK Arnold to also be good.
For now, Azzi Fudd will be focusing on her senior year and delivering Auriemma possibly his record 13th NCAA national title with a back-to-back win. UConn is coming into the 2025-2026 season with a lot of hype and are early favorites to repeat as national champions.
Azzi Fudd Talks About Not Being Able To Play With Girlfriend Paige Bueckers at UConn This Season
Over at UConn, Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers formed a partnership that took them all the way to the national title. This partnership soon blossomed into a romantic one. However, as UConn aims for a back-to-back, Fudd will be without her partner this time around.
During her appearance in the “Good Game with Sarah Spain,” she opened up about not being able to play with her girlfriend for the first time in years.
“It’s weird being the oldest. I don’t know,” she said. “I feel old. Freshmen are coming in, they’re 17, and I’m like, ugh. They’re talking about all the high school slang and brain rot. We’re not that [far] apart, but it feels like it. It’s going to be weird not having [Paige], obviously. But it’s going to be fun, and I’m super excited for what this year is going to hold for me.”
Despite Bueckers now being in the WNBA, UConn still has a very good roster which could get that back-to-back and hand Geno Auriemma his 13th natty.
