Shedeur Sanders is in the middle of the Cleveland Browns training camp, battling for that coveted starting position. After years in college, professional analysts finally have a better look at him, and they have some criticisms regarding his game.
One of these analysts is former New York Jets scout Daniel Kelly, who took to X and gave his take on Sanders, pointing out that his college coach and dad, NFL legend Deion Sanders, should have taught him how to avoid telegraphing his throws.
“Lock. Pat. Throw. No better way to telegraph throws. I’m surprised Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders didn’t teach Shedeur better. Quarterbacks who do this are a pass coverage dream come true in the NFL.” Tweeted Kelly in his First Round Mock X page.

The former Jets scout noted that this could be bad for Shedeur Sanders, as this telegraphed throw of his could have opponents drawing up plays that could lead to sacks, something his dad, Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders should know a thing or two about.
Shedeur Sanders himself was trained by Tom Brady, and this telegraphed throw was also a trait that Tom Brady had, as fans pointed out in the comments section.
“Deion didn’t train him, he had Tom Brady train him for a while some years back,” one fan said.
“You do know he got that from Brady right?” another person added.
“Yeah because that is SUCH a red flag 🙄🙄” another user pointed out.

Tom Brady Had Some Advice For Shedeur Sanders After Unexpected Draft Slide
Shedeur Sanders was projected to go as high as No. 2 in the 2025 NFL draft, but soon slid down to the fifth round and was eventually picked No. 144 overall. However, if anybody knows how that feels, it is Tom Brady, who was drafted late in the sixth round. His former mentor provided some wise words to Sanders after the draft slide.
“Regardless of where you’re picked, everyone’s got the opportunity to be their best and show up, and I think the great thing about the NFL is it’s such a meritocracy,” Tom Brady told Sanders. “If you play well, you’re going to get the opportunities to get a chance to go out there on the field and play and perform well. And I know he’ll be ready for that moment whenever it happens. I’m very excited to watch him get out there.”
Brady then told Sanders how proud he is of his former student and told him to take advantage of whatever opportunities he can get.
