‘Let’s See How It Goes’: Adam Breneman Gives Arch Manning Fans Reality Check Amid Massive Hype Ahead of 2025 Season

The college football season is quickly approaching, and few players have as much hype as Texas quarterback Arch Manning. Despite never starting a full season in college, he is among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy and has the expectations of helping the Longhorns compete for a national championship.

On Saturday, analyst Adam Breneman posted a video talking about the three quarterbacks he is most excited to watch this coming season. To no one’s surprise, Arch Manning was the first player he discussed, but he gave Texas fans a bit of a reality check.

“I’ve been thinking a lot about the college football season. Here’s the three quarterbacks I’m most excited to watch,” Adam Breneman said. “Number one, Arch Manning at Texas. I mean, there’s so much hype around this dude it’s insane. He’s got the name, he’s got the NIL, he’s got the pressure of a dynasty at Texas.

“Here’s the truth, he’s thrown fewer than 100 career passes and now he walks into the SEC as the starter with national title favorite. Tons of excitement around him. His first game is at Ohio State. Let’s see how it goes.”

Adam Breneman Adds Carson Beck and Walker Howard to His List of Exciting Quarterbacks, Joining Arch Manning

After Breneman stopped talking about Arch Manning, he moved on to his other two exciting quarterbacks. New Miami QB Carson Beck made the list. Breneman discussed how Beck had huge expectations last season and was expected to already be in the NFL at this point. However, he pointed out that after a bit of a regression and a season riddled with injuries, Beck now has a lot of pressure in Miami.

Breneman thinks Beck has the potential to emerge as a star before his college career, or he could fade into irrelevancy with a poor season. Following the discussion about Carson Beck, Breneman had a bit of a surprising pick as he brought up Louisiana QB Walker Howard. He was once a top recruit in the country but never was able to earn a starting job at LSU or Ole Miss.

However, Breneman thinks he can still “be that guy.” He also called Howard the “biggest unknown in college football.”

While Howard is now in the Group of Five rather than the Power Four, he is joining a strong team that went 10-4 last season. He is entering the season with the expectations of living up to his high school hype.
