There has been a lot of talk regarding retired Alabama head coach Nick Saban, as rumors have been spreading that he may be returning to coaching. Despite close family and friends saying that the rumors are not true, these rumors are getting stronger. Analysts are even jumping in, with many divided on whether or not Saban will actually come out of retirement.
Colin Cowherd is on the camp who believes Saban will come out of retirement, but he also believes that he would not be coming back to college football, but to the NFL. He took to his podcast, “The Herd with Colin Cowherd”, and revealed that he may be ending up with the New Orleans Saints, worth $4.79 billion, next year, or possibly the Cleveland Browns. The team is a favorite to get the No. 1 pick, and they will use that pick to get Arch Manning.
“There’s also not one opening now. Arch Manning still a college player now. So, I’m just saying I thought it was very intentional. There’s not a place I’m going to leave for right now. And I don’t even think this is an argument like that. That’s very open. That’s very gray. And he may not take the job. I’m not saying definitively he’s going to,” said Cowherd.
“I’m saying if Cleveland ends up with a number one pick, if the Saints end up with a number one pick and take Arch Manning, he’s coached in Louisiana, he’s coached in Ohio, he’s taking the call. He may go to Miss Terry, discuss it for a couple of days, but I I know what he kind of makes at ESPN. He’s going to make about 30% more or more than that coaching college uh pro football. He’ll take the call. I don’t think he’s going to college,” he added.
He also noted that Saban’s answer to the question of whether he retires or not leaves the door open to a possible comeback. Whether he will stay retired, go back to college or in the pros, however, is still up for debate.

Nick Saban Says He Never Really Thought About Coming Out of Retirement Until Recently
As for the statement that Cowherd talked about regarding Nick Saban leaving things open, it was from an interview he gave Fox News, where Miss Terry asked him to get the vacuum downstairs.
“I never ever really had a thought about getting back into coaching until two days ago,” he said. “Miss Terry said I had to run the sweeper in the entire downstairs. So, while I was running the sweeper, the thought occurred to me, ‘You know when you were coaching, you had a heck of a lot better job than this.'”
The rumors started blowing up when former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy revealed that an inside source was adamant that Nick Saban was coming out of retirement. Several people close to him shot this down, including his daughter Kristen, though these did not slow the rumors down. The Fox News interview only intensified these rumors.
