Stepping back in front of the cameras is Deion Sanders. Following a notable silence that left players, fans, and the media wondering what was going on behind the scenes, the Colorado head coach will speak in public for the first time since his appearance at Big 12 Media Days.
Colorado’s Deion Sanders & his medical team, including representatives from CU Anschutz & UCHealth, will hold his 1st press conference of fall camp Monday to “provide team & general updates.”

Sanders is typically always active, so it’s not just that he hasn’t been as recently. Coach Prime can be seen almost everywhere, whether it’s in a tweet, a video, or a press event. His influence in the field of college sports has garnered him a net worth of $60 million as per Celebrity Net Worth. Naturally, questions arose after two weeks had gone by without hearing from one of college football’s most prominent leaders.
He’s back now, though. The press conference on Thursday will draw a lot of attention, but at the end of the day, it is just a scheduling note. Despite all the health issues that have plagued him, Deion Sanders continues to take this program to higher levels. His integrity and charisma continue to bring Boulder recruits and revenue.

What’s on the Horizon for Deion Sanders’ Return?
To the public, it is merely a press conference. But Colorado will view it as a vital sign. While other teams have taken center stage in the news cycle, the Buffaloes have had a quiet few weeks. Which doesn’t mean much in terms of how much Colorado is usually talked about. With key departures such as Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, if Sanders doesn’t convey confidence, there simply won’t be any.
As fall camp gets underway nationwide, rosters are finalized and depth charts begin to take shape. But Sanders’ prominence, or lack thereof, hasn’t gone unnoticed. Losing arguably his two biggest players, Sanders will have to turn his roster around to continue to keep Boulder relevant.
The new quarterback is the biggest question moving forward, as there has still been no official announcement on who will be starting. They have two solid options in senior Kaidon Salter and freshman JuJu Lewis, and Sanders seems content with either.
“We can’t lose either way with either of those two,” he said earlier in the summer.
Both QBs offer plenty in Boulder, as Salter has the experience and Lewis has infinite potential. While it won’t be easy to replace Shedeur, it will be extremely important in Boulder if they want to contend for the playoffs. Deion Sanders being fully healthy and back in the swing of things will certainly be a huge step in getting an improved Colorado in 2025.
