IN PICS: Former BYU Star Egor Demin Enjoys Sun-Soaked Getaway With Girlfriend Delaney Gibb

The Brooklyn Nets took a big gamble when they picked Russian point guard Egor Demin from BYU at No. 8 overall. However, the former Cougar turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the 2025 NBA Summer League as he put to rest some concerns about his shooting. Now, the 6’8″ guard is enjoying some relaxation with his girlfriend, Delaney Gibb, and her family.

Gibb posted a few photos of herself and Demin at a lake resort with some family members as the Nets rookie finally got to rest after a hectic NBA draft and Summer League schedule where he and other rookies had little time to rest. He was even seen fishing while Gibb was taking some selfies.

Take a look at the photos below:

Egor Demin was a one-and-done with BYU, making the shift to the NBA after playing at Real Madrid in Spain. He averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game during his only year. He was considered a five-star prospect by 247Sports ahead of him signing with BYU.

Demin, who can speak Russian, Spanish and English, was initially said to not be a very good jump shooter but was an excellent playmaker who would rather set his teammates up rather than score himself.

However, the 19-year-old does have a soft touch and is a very active defender when trying to steal or contest shots. His teammates have praised him for his passing abilities.

“I’ve never played with a point guard that can see and pass it in the short windows that he can. … Even now [a month into the 2024-25 season], in some games he’ll rifle a pass and I’m like, there’s no way that’s getting through, and then it gets through, and I’ve got to hurry and get my feet set to shoot it. said BYU teammate Trevin Knell to The Athletic.

Brooklyn Nets Still Have Few Concerns With Egor Demin, Says Analyst

Despite Egor Demin showing that he has improved on his outside shooting during the Summer League, CBS Sports analyst Cameron Salerno said that the Brooklyn Nets should still have a few concerns regarding the Russian, namely if he should be the primary or secondary playmaker.

“He’s not a true point guard,” he said. “I still don’t know exactly what he will be in the NBA.”

In college and in Europe, Demin was known for having a good assist-to-turnover ratio. During the Summer League, however, he had a negative one, and this raised even more concerns, as the former BYU star still tries to find his footing with the Nets.
