PICS: Ex Iowa Star Caitlin Clark Gives Back to Community With Heartwarming Gesture Towards School in Indianapolis

Caitlin Clark is one of the biggest names not just in women’s basketball, but in sports in general, and she is showing her love to her community in Indianapolis. The Fever star, originally from Iowa and a former Iowa Hawkeyes star, visited IPS Northwest Middle School and gave the students some backpacks filled with school supplies and the books that they need.

The Indiana Fever star took some time off her busy schedule for the outreach event, interacting with students and speaking with them in the school gym. The school reported that hundreds of students received those new backpacks from Clark, the most recognized WNBA player in the world today.

For now, she is still out with a right groin injury and she is slated to miss multiple weeks because of it. Among the games that she missed was her much-hyped 3-Point Contest showdown with Sabrina Ionescu, who ultimately won the contest, during the WNBA All-Star Game last week. She was also supposed to lead Team Clark in the All-Star Game itself but had to sit out due to her injury.

Despite missing the All-Star Game, Clark came out in solidarity with her fellow WNBA players as she joined the protest to demand more pay from the league, which is experiencing record revenue thanks to the popularity of newer players like herself, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers.

Caitlin Clark Reaggravated Her Right Groin

As for her injury, the WNBA superstar may have reaggravated her right groin, drawing fears that she may have sustained additional injuries. This led her to get another medical check and it was found that she did not sustain additional damage, with Indiana releasing a sigh of relief.

Clark is already projected to miss several weeks due to her injury and if she did gotten injured further, she may have been missing even more games.

The Indiana Fever released a statement on Thursday following the news that Clark was not injured further, noting that their star player will “continue working with the Fever medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation.” They also promised to provide updates regarding Clark’s return “as they become available.”

So far, Clark’s 2025 season, her second one since coming to the WNBA, has been addled with injuries, getting injured earlier in the season before coming back and then getting injured again ahead of the All-Star break. When she is healthy, however, she carries the Fever, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5 rebounds per game.
