Joel Klatt Declares 10-win ACC Program As Lock For 2025 College Football Playoff: “Going To Be Incredible”

The 2025 season is almost here and the question many are asking is, which teams will make it to the College Football Playoffs? Analyst Joel Klatt believes one of those teams might be the Clemson Tigers, which has a few very challenging games in their schedule for the new season.

Klatt noted that while their schedule is not that difficult, Clemson is also coming into the season with a loaded roster. To add to that, their most difficult games of the season are non-conference games.

“They’ve got TJ Parker, they’ve got Peter Woods, they’ve got Aveion Terrell at corner, Sammy Brown. Like, this team is going to be loaded, and it’s not a very difficult schedule. You could make a strong argument that their two most difficult games are non-conference games,” Klatt said. (3:33)

Klatt then explained their schedule, with the most difficult being LSU at home, is their season opener. Their other tough game is against South Carolina, and Klatt noted that these will be tougher than any of the other games they have this season, with other tough conference games being Georgia Tech and Louisville on the road, as well as SMU at home.

Klatt then pointed out that this loaded roster plus the relatively easy schedule is what will get Clemson to the playoffs this year. He went even further, saying that the Tigers might even win it all.

“This is a team that, for sure, will be in the playoff and I think could make a deep run,” Klatt predicted. “I’ll be pretty surprised if this is not a team in the National semifinals. And you know what? I’m toying around with, in my bracket, putting them as a team playing for the National championship. We’ll just see who they play. So my number one buy team for 2025, Clemson. I think Clemson’s going to be incredible and, again, trending upward from last season.”

Another Analyst Believes Clemson Will Take the ACC

Joel Klatt is not the only analyst who believes that Clemson will dominate the ACC this year, but also CBS Sports’ Chip Patterson. During “CBS Sports HQ,” he stated his belief that no other team can dethrone the Tigers at the ACC this year and how it looked like the 2016 team.

“All of a sudden, I’m looking at this Clemson team and how Dabo’s [Swinney] built it, it looks very 2016,18 vintage,” he said.

Klatt noted that Cade Klubnik is an NFL-caliber quarterback already, adding that the team also has a lot of good wide receivers to catch his throws. In addition, he also praised the defense, calling it “one of the nation’s best,” especially with defensive coordinator Tom Allen.
