Caitlin Clark Shares 3-Word Reaction As WNBA Announces Indiana Star’s Replacement For 3-Point Contest

Indiana star Caitlin Clark is one of the biggest names in women’s basketball. She has dominated headlines since starting her WNBA career in 2024, winning the Rookie of the Year award last season. As a result, it was not a surprise when she was selected for the All-Star Game. It was set to be a particularly exciting event because Indiana is hosting it this year.

However, on Thursday, Clark announced in a statement that she will not be able to participate in the All-Star Game or 3-point contest because of a groin injury.

“I’m so excited for Indy to host WNBA All-Star this weekend,” Clark wrote. “I want to thank the Indianapolis Host Committee and all of the people that have put endless work in over the past year to put this event together. I know this will be the best All-Star yet.

“I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game. I have to rest my body. I will still be at Gainsbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I’m looking forward to helping Sandy coach our team to a win. Can’t wait to see you all out there!”

Despite her disappointment, Clark is happy about her replacement. On Friday morning, it was announced that Clark’s Indiana teammate, Lexie Hull, will be her replacement for the 3-Point Contest. Clark reposted this news to her Instagram story with a three-word reaction.

    “Let’s get ittttt,” Clark wrote.

Caitlin Clark Re-Aggravated Her Groin Injury on Tuesday

After a stellar rookie season, Caitlin Clark has struggled with her health throughout her sophomore campaign. She missed five games earlier this season with a quad injury. She then missed another four games in late June because of a groin injury.

Clark had returned from injury and had been available for four games in July. However, in a win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, Clark re-aggravated her groin injury. She ended the game and could be seen visibly in discomfort. She then did not participate in the Fever’s final game before the All-Star weekend on Wednesday.

While many fans will be disappointed that Clark is not participating in the All-Star Game or 3-Point Contest, she will still be at the facility to interact with fans and support the other players.
