Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has dealt with multiple injuries this season. Earlier in the season, she missed multiple games due to a quad injury. After her return, she suffered a groin injury, making her miss more games.
In the latest update, Clark is set to miss participating in the WNBA All-Star game and the 3-point contest due to a groin injury. Due to this injury, Clark hasn’t been her dominant self on the court. In her last four games, Clark could only convert 3 of 28 3-point attempts. That’s just 10.7% shooting from deep.
WNBA legend Lisa Leslie feels Clark’s injury and dismal shooting has a correlation. During her appearance on “We Need to Talk” show, she spoke from experience that the groin injury in particular can really hinder one’s movement on the basketball court.
“Well, I really feel for Caitlin Clark because I actually had that injury in 2006,” Leslie said. “And listen, I was heavily taped around my thigh, around my glute—just trying to make sure there was enough pressure to hold that groin. And the hard part is that the groin is sort of an area that you can’t just touch and say, ‘Oh, it hurts right here.’ You feel it deep. You have to get a lot of deep treatment—whether it’s ice, heat, or rest.
“Well, Caitlin Clark—she can’t find a lot of rest right now because she’s midseason. But I think that injury is really tough because it lingers. No matter how much medicine you take, you can feel fine, but once you get back out there—one move, one change of direction—and boom, you’re right back feeling that same type of pain. So it’s gonna be a tough injury that she’s gonna have to manage.”
Following up on that answer, the host asked Leslie how long will it take to recover. Leslie answered negatively, saying:
“To be honest, Tracy, I play tennis and I can still feel that injury linger because I don’t know that it ever really goes away. You just learn to manage and play with it, which could also be why her numbers are down.”

Caitlin Clark Feels Sad For Not Being Able to Play in All-Star Game
Last year, the WNBA decided to hold the All-Star game in Indianapolis, home of the Indiana Fever. Caitlin Clark was expected to draw a lot of eyes to the league, but her injury couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Clark issued a statement that while she won’t be participating in the game, she’ll be there at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to support Team Clark and help them win over Team Collier.
“I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game,” Clark said in a statement. “I have to rest my body. I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I’m looking forward to helping Sandy [Brondello] coach our team to a win.”
The Fever, who won the Commissioner’s Cup, will be eyeing the WNBA title this season and they’ll need Clark’s help.
