Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz was at the SEC media days on Thursday. It was the day for the Missouri Tigers to be available for media questions about the coming season. It was the final of four SEC media days.
When Drinkwitz took the podium on Thursday morning, he led with a bizarre opening statement, making a joke about the Epstein files. While media members initially looked around the room in confusion, it quickly became clear that it was a joke as Drinkwitz joked about other conspiracy theories like the radiation belt and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
“I know there’s a lot of burning questions in this room by the 14 of y’all that showed up,” Drinkwitz said. “But just as a reminder, I’m not going to answer any questions about the Epstein files, about the radiation belt, and whether or not it was possible for Lee Harvey Oswald to get three shots off in seven seconds. I don’t have time to answer all those questions, but I will answer questions about Mizzou football.”

Eli Drinkwitz Opens Up About Missouri’s Disappointing 2025 Offense
After Eli Drinkwitz wrapped up his unique opening statement, he started taking questions from the media. One of the things he was asked about was the team’s offense. Last year, it was a disappointment and a leading reason the team struggled at various points last season. Drinkwitz was open about his feelings about the offense on last year’s team.
“Bottom line, last year, our offense wasn’t fun,” Drinkwitz said. “I mean, it was not fun to watch. It wasn’t fun to be a part of. We weren’t having fun. We were pressing too much.”
Drinkwitz went on to talk about how one of his goals for this coming season is to bring fun back to the offense. He wants the team to be more creative and to sometimes throw caution to the wind. He spoke with excitement about what the offensive members of his coaching staff are coming to come up with for this season.
The Missouri Tigers went 10-3 last season despite their offensive inconsistencies.
