Head coach Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels are heading into an important season. Kiffin has been at the helm at Ole Miss for five seasons, leading them to three 10+ win seasons. However, he has failed to get the team over the hump and into true contention for a national championship. This past season, they narrowly missed out on a spot in the new 12-team college football playoff.
The offseason had been going well for the Rebels, but on Tuesday, the team faced a setback. Two key members of Kiffin’s staff officially announced that they are leaving the team. One announced his decision to take an opportunity in the NFL, whereas the other is joining an Ole Miss rival.
The first member of the staff to announce his departure was Kelvin Bolden, who was the director of player personnel for the Rebels. He is joining the Rebels’ rival, the LSU Tigers, as its next assistant general manager. He posted on X:
“One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make… but I just want to say: Thank you, Ole Miss football for a great 3 years. For the memories, the relationships, and the opportunity to be a part of something special. I appreciate the coaching staff and everyone apart of this organization! Ole Miss will forever be a special place to me,” Bolden wrote.

Another Member of Lane Kiffin’s Staff Announces His Decision to Leave the Team
Another member of Lane Kiffin’s staff, Alex Brown, posted a heartfelt farewell on Tuesday. He will be joining the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL as a scout.
“There’s never an easy way to say goodbye. Loved every minute with Ole Miss, from players to staff & the fans. Will be a Reb for life. The journey continues & I’m so excited to say I’m now starting my dream of scouting in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons,” Brown wrote.

Despite the many departures from Lane Kiffin’s staff, there is still a lot of optimism that this can be a strong season for the Rebels.
