“My Gold Medalist Came To See Me” – Aaliyah Moore Shares Wholesome Moment With Teammate Madison Booker
Texas Longhorns star Aaliyah Moore may have missed teammate Madison Booker a lot, as she celebrated Booker’s return from Chile. Booker was the team captain of Team USA, which won gold during the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup tournament in Santiago, helping lead USA Basketball to a perfect undefeated run.
Moore took to her Instagram Stories to share a wholesome video featuring the returning Booker, with Booker replying in her own Instagram story.
“my gold medalist came to me @therealmaddieb,” wrote Aaliyah Moore.
“Reunited once again, replied Madison Booker.

Both Booker and Moore shone for Texas last year and are expected to continue their deadly tandem at Austin this year. Together, the two Longhorns stars led Texas all the way to the Final Four before losing to South Carolina in the semifinal match. They also made it all the way to the SEC championship game, only to fall to South Carolina.
As for her time with the national team, Texas head coach Vic Schaefer was all praises for Madison Booker, who led an all-college team against Brazil, which was led by two current WNBA players in Kamilla Cardoso and Damiris Dantas in the final. However, it was still an All-Star collegiate team filled with talent such as LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson, Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo, Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes and TCU’s Olivia Miles.
Texas Head Coach Vic Schaefer All Praises For Madison Booker After FIBA Women’s AmeriCup Performance in Chile
As for Madison Booker’s time in Chile, her head coach at Texas, Vic Schaefer, followed her there and watched her play. He spoke with the Austin American-Statesman regarding how she fared on the international stage.
“She was a big factor on both ends of the floor,” Schaefer told the newspaper. “I think we all know that she’s so skilled and can do a lot of things offensively, but I think what she really brought to that team was a real energy on the defensive end as well.”
Booker averaged 7.1 points at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup and was part of the “FIBA Women’s AmeriCup All Star 5” list. Her biggest game was during the quarterfinals, where the Americans took on the Dominican Republic. She had 13 points and six steals in that defensive clinic of a game.
This is now her fourth gold medal on the international stage, also winning the top prize during the 2021 FIBA Women’s U16 Americas, 2022 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup and 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup competitions.
