‘F*ck Jeremiah Smith’, ‘Hating on a 19-year-old’: CFB Fans Left Divided As Ohio State Star Calls Out LeBron James In Now Deleted Post

College football fans had mixed reactions to the Ohio State Buckeyes star, Jeremiah Smith, after the wide receiver targeted LeBron James in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter). Journalist Timothy Johnson posted his exchange with Smith, which began when the 19-year-old reacted to a post criticizing LeBron for his ring-chasing.

Smith had replied with a hundred points emoji to a post from X user AirJordans23, who berated LeBron upon comparing him to Michael Jordan, late Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, and Tom Brady.

“Ruthless killers like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, and Tom Brady wanted to BEAT everyone they competed against,” AirJordans23 wrote. “Overrated LeBron James wants to PLAY WITH everyone else and take shortcuts to easy rings…such a cowardly fraud.”

Johnson blasted Smith for his comment, pointing out that the youngster has done the same in his college football career, playing for Ohio State while hailing from Miami, Florida.

“So Jeremiah Smith thinks LeBron is a ‘Coward’ who ‘takes shortcuts to easy rings’ – You mean like playing for Ohio State to bring them a Natty instead of your hometown team you grew up rooting for? Do the right thing – COME HOME TO THE U BROTHER!!!! NO MORE ‘LEBRON RING CHASING’!!!!” Johnson wrote.

Smith replied to Johnson’s post, writing “Man get a life.” However, Johnson declared victory against the wide receiver, posting a screenshot of the Ohio State star blocking the journalist on X after their fiery exchange. A fan expressed their outrage with the college football star’s comment, writing:

    “F*ck Jeremiah Smith.”

Here are some other fan reactions.

“Everyone acting like he’s 13. This was a great call out,” one fan shared.

“Cooked his hypocrite a**,” another fan posted.

However, a few came forward in support of Smith.

“Or maybe his decision was based on better development to the NFL? OSU probably has twice the active WR’s in the NFL than Miami,” one fan argued.

“Woah. You are a super tough guy. He chose a school where he could be developed by the best. I think that is more important to him,” another fan pointed out.

“Hating on a 19 year old for making a decision that would be more beneficial to his career is crazy. The U won 0 meaningful games last year and won’t win any this next year. Absolute BOZO,” one fan commented.

The Miami Hurricanes were one of the teams interested in signing Smith, who grew up in Florida. He rejected Miami’s offer and instead opted to sign with Ohio State. The decision has already paid dividends for Smith, who won the national championship in his first year with the Buckeyes.
