Matt Rhule Drops An IG Approval as QB Marcos Davila Posts Sweet Moment with Girlfriend in Latest Dump

Nebraska quarterback Marcos Davila has been enjoying himself in the off-season, enjoying some activities and spending some time with his girlfriend. The Cornhuskers star posted a photo dump on Instagram, which featured a date with his girlfriend, some time on the golf course, and playing some tennis.

After posting this, his coach, Matt Rhule, gave his approval of the quarterback taking some time off before the season begins, even sharing a photo of that date on his Instagram story:

Davila will possibly be serving as the QB2 for Nebraska this season, right behind Dylan Raiola, though it may be possible that returning quarterback Jalyn Gramstad will be the new second quarterback this season. Raiola is seen to be untouchable at QB1 at the moment, with Rhule believing that Raiola is ready to lead the team.

As for Davila, he was originally from Purdue but has since transferred to Nebraska last December. He spoke with Husker247 on why he committed to Nebraska:

“Really I just feel like this is going to bring the best competitor out of me,” Davila said. “I’ve always been super competitive. I feel like it’s just going to be a good thing for the team, just being able to push him and push myself. I feel like it’s just going to set me up for success further down the road.”

The battle for QB2 has been heating up at Nebraska, with incoming freshman quarterback TJ Lateef also set to join the Cornhuskers this year. However, he may be a dark horse in the QB2 spot, with the position likely going to Davila.

Former Heisman Trophy Winner Robert Griffin Says Nebraska Made Right Choice in Picking Marcos Davila

Meanwhile, Marcos Davila just received a ringing endorsement, and it came from former Heisman trophy winner Robert Griffin, who believes the former Purdue quarterback to be a future leader with Nebraska. He then revealed that he had a hand in Davila’s development.

“When a young man comes knocking at your door for advice, that’s when you can give it back and push it forward,” Griffin said. “I was honored to help guide him through the process.”

“Knowing Coach (Matt) Rhule, having him been at Baylor and been a great coach towards me, I knew at Nebraska they would take care of him,” he added. “They would allow him to grow and develop as a young man and player, and have a great opportunity to play when his time comes.”

Davila attended one of Griffin’s camps at Baylor, with the former Heisman winner agreeing to help the quarterback out.
