Johnson has been one of the team’s biggest stars as it advances through the tournament. Johnson arguably had her best performance of the tournament in the quarterfinals against Chile. Team USA dominated the game, winning 110-44. While many of the team put up big performances, it was Johnson who led the way. She had 22 points, leading the team in scoring and putting up half of Chile’s total score.

Following this win, Team USA advanced to the semifinals, where they played Canada. Johnson was much more limited in this game, only appearing for three minutes. However, the United States was still able to pull off a 65-53 win over its Northern rivals.
The win advanced Team USA to the semifinals, where it will play Brazil, which defeated Argentina in the semifinals. This should set up an exciting matchup on Sunday as Flau’Jae Johnson will compete against Brazilian star Kamilla Cardoso.
