‘So Amazinnnn’, ‘Yeaaa’: Sydney Affolter, Lucy Olsen and More Hype Up Iowa Star Hannah Stuelke Over AmeriCup Milestone

    Iowa Hawkeyes forward Hannah Stuelke recently struck gold at the international level during the 2025 college basketball offseason. On Sunday, July 6, Team USA Women defeated Brazil by eight points, 92-84, to capture the gold medal in the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup and book its ticket to the Women’s World Cup in 2026.

    On Wednesday, July 8, Stuelke uploaded a dump post on her Instagram account that encapsulates her entire FIBA and Team USA experience at such an early age (22). She included a grateful caption in the post, and several current, former, and incoming Hawkeyes players went over to the comments section to hype her up.

    Stuelke is in her fourth collegiate hoops offseason with coach Jan Jensen’s squad and is preparing for her senior year in the 2025-26 season. In her three years so far with the Hawkeyes, Stuelke has averaged 10.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. In the previously concluded campaign, she bumped up her averages to the tune of 12.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest.

    Hannah Stuelke Played Significant Minutes for Team USA Women in the Winner-Take-All AmeriCup Game

    On Sunday, July 6, when Team USA Women defeated the Brazilian national team to win their fifth FIBA AmeriCup gold medal in the 2025 edition, Hannah Stuelke logged in productive minutes for coach Kara Lawson’s squad.

    In 22 minutes of playing time, the now fourth-year standout dropped seven points on 2-for-2 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line to go with seven rebounds, one assist, two steals, and a block.

    Throughout Team USA’s seven-game dominance of this year’s FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, Stuelke registered 5.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per outing. She will look to carry this momentum into the next season with the Iowa Hawkeyes, after they finished the 2024-25 campaign with an overall record of 23-11 (10-8, Big Ten).
