Jason Crowe’s son Jason Crowe Jr. is one of the top uncommitted basketball prospects from the 2026 class. However, he will soon announce his college decision on Jul. 18, according to his father. His decision will be intriguing as the 6-foot-3, point guard out of California has not released a list of finalists.
Let’s break down the most likely contenders based on reported interest, official visits, and recruitment trends.
1. Kentucky Wildcats
With Mark Pope taking over the program, Kentucky has ushered in a new era and they have a requirement of high-upside guards. Kentucky has made a push on the West Coast in recent cycles, and Crowe’s elite shot creation and vision would come handy.
“My relationship is real good with them. Coach (Mark) Pope texted me before USA to just be myself, and to play my game,” he said of Kentucky via On3. “That helped. They shoot a lot of threes, and obviously I’m a shooter. They play run-and-gun and that’s how I like to play.”
2. USC Trojans
Given he is from California, the University of Southern California naturally becomes one of the top in-state options. Head coach Eric Musselman has a knack for developing guards (see: Anthony Black, Moses Moody), providing Crowe Jr. with an opportunity to stay at home and still thrive on national stage.
“I just recently went to their practice,” Crowe Jr. said of USC. “I saw that they play fast-paced, and that is how I like to play. The practice I went to, they didn’t really didn’t get into much, but what I liked about it is that it was high-paced the whole time.”
3. Washington Huskies
Jason Crowe Jr. has established a strong connect with Quincy Pondexter who went from USC to take on the role of assistant coach at Washington ahead of the next season. Pondexter and Washington remain heavily involved for Crowe Jr.’s commitment.
“Coach (Quincy) Pondexter just went back up there from USC. He had been recruiting me hard over there, so we got a real good relationship,” Crowe Jr. said.
4. Baylor Bears
Baylor Bears coach Scott Drew has a fine record of developing NBA-ready guards, including Davion Mitchell, Jared Butler and Keyonte George, giving Crowe Jr. an another option for his ultimate path to the NBA.
“My relationship with them is growing slowly but surely. My friend, Elijah Williams, is going there and he talks about them a lot to me. He wants me to come in with him,” Crowe Jr. said.
Jason Crowe Jr. is ranked as the No. 12 overall player in the 2025 class (per On3) and the No. 2 point guard. He averaged 36.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game last season at Lynwood High School (CA). It remains to be seen where does he takes his talents to.
