Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson seems to have taken some time out of his preparation for the upcoming 2025 season, and he’s spending it with his fiancée and former Miami Hurricanes guard Haley Cavinder.
On Thursday, just ahead of Independence Day (4th of July), the couple was spotted sharing a sweet moment at Paw Paw Lake, Michigan. Haley, who was in beachy white attire, and Jake, who was in a patriotic “Back to Back Undefeated World War Champs” tee, got cozy with a lakeside kiss. In the photo, Haley was wearing a cap that said “American Thighs.”

Jake Ferguson And Haley’s First Date Was Around the 4th of July Weekend
Ferguson and Haley met online, as the tight end reached out to her via DM during the summer of 2023. However, the Cowboys star jokingly claims that it was the former guard who initiated the conversation.
“He DMed me,” she said during January 2024 YouTube Q&A. “He likes to say I DMed him, but I didn’t.”
After meeting in June, their first date turned into a 10-day getaway over the 4th of July weekend.
“It was, like, so fun, because it was Fourth of July weekend,” she said.
By Sept., everyone learned about their relationship as they went Instagram official.
Earlier this year (April 17), the couple took a major step in their relationship as Ferguson went down on one knee to propose to Haley on a Fort Myers Beach, Florida, shoreline decorated with white flowers. The engagement ring features an elegant oval solitaire set in yellow gold.
After 18 years of playing basketball, including stints with Fresno State and Miami, Haley and her twin sister Hanna said goodbye to basketball after last season. She finished her college career with ACC honors.
Meanwhile, Ferguson, 26, broke out with the Cowboys, ranking among Pro Bowl tight ends in 2023, and tied with his grandfather, Barry Alvarez’s legacy (former college football coach) at Wisconsin.
Haley regularly attends Cowboys games, styling in team colors, and Jake reciprocates by supporting Haley’s basketball events.
In that same interview, Haley claimed that Ferguson’s comfort made her feel confident about their relationship.
“Honestly, I’m very confident and comfortable with sharing my relationship because Jake was very loud about it,” she said.
As far as their wedding preparations go, Haley has already started planning and booking venues.
