Former Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever won their first-ever 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday. Without the services of Clark, the Fever were led by forward Natasha Howard in a 74-59 win against the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center. Howard had a double-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
While Clark was watching her teammates reach glory, her friend and former Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi was also following the game, and shortly after the game was completed, she posted a one-word reaction to celebrate the win:
“Bang.”

The Fever pocketed a $500K prize pool, earned $120K in crypto via Coinbase, and donated $10K to their local Peace Learning Center.
Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever Took Down No. 1 Lynx
Coming into this game, the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx were on opposite sides of the WNBA standings. This made the table topper 14-2 Lynx overwhelming favorite against Caitlin Clark-less Fever, who are 8-8 this season.
The Lynx jumped to a 20–12 lead in the first quarter, but the Fever flipped the script with an 18–0 run to close the second, ending the half up 32–27. The Fever put their foot down in the next two quarters, outscoring Lynx 20-15 and 22-17 in the final two quarters t close down the game with a 74-59 win.

The Fever saw balanced attack from both inside and outside the arc. Apart from Natasha Howard’s MVP performance, the Fever received support from former first overall pick
Aliyah Boston (12 points, 11 rebounds), guard Sophie Cunningham (13 points), Kelsey Mitchell (12) and Aari McDonald (12).
On the other hand, Minnesota shot just 34.9%, including 25% from the 3-point line, despite Alanna Smith’s 15 points. Fever coach Stephanie White was proud of her team’s efforts as she said:
“You’ve got to have the confidence in yourself and the confidence in your teammates to allow someone else to step up in those moments, and I think that this group is learning that.”
While the Fever have had a rough regular season, this win should give them the confidence to take their .500 record to above .600 in the next few games. As far as Clark is concerned, she was out with a groin injury, missing her third consecutive game. Her next chance to suit up is likely in regular-season play.
