Clemson may have lost a lot of players from the transfer portal, but the team is getting some very big additions that can give the Tigers a big impact next season. On3 football analyst JD PicKell revealed that several key additions are gonna have some impact for the Tigers, and they will also give them a sort of “vintage” feel.
“Will Heldt transfering over from Purdue to Clemson, he’s gonna help bolster what the Clemson pass rush is gonna be in 2025, and the feel for me for Will Heldt added to that lineup. we keep saying this; it feels very vintage Clemson right? A lot of names you can mention,” said Pickell.
“Now I’m not saying that he’s gonna be Christian Wilkins or any of those elite guys that have come through there, but you mention Will Heldt, you mention Peter Woods, you mention TJ Parker. It’s like, okay, Clemson’s gonna have some guys now to force the issue. It’s gonna be a big part of what they do week one against LSU,” he added.
“Adding another name to that mix, I think it’s a big win for Dabo, I think it’s a big win for that defense, and Tom Allen, now how he operates, the new DC out there, he runs hot. Gonna apply some pressure. The Clemson Tigers in 2025, Will Heldt will be a massive part of that, so another name, more depth, more bodies, more pieces, more everything for Clemson.” Pickell explained.

The analyst noted that Heldt will be vital to that Clemson pass rush, which adds to the vintage feel for this new-look Tigers squad. He also mentioned returning Clemson stars TJ Parker and Peter Woods being vital to the lineup.
Clemson Tigers Adding New Punter To Roster From the Soccer Team
Speaking of Clemson getting more depth, the Tigers have added a new punter, though they did not search that far, as they recruited from the Clemson soccer team, with Charlie Reed going from soccer goalkeeper to Clemson’s newest walk-on kicker for their football squad.
Charlie Reed actually played football in high school, but entered Clemson for soccer. He is the younger brother of Clemson offensive lineman Ian Reed. His addition may solve the Tigers’ punter woes, as the team has not yet locked in their punter for 2025.
