‘Such a Baby Man’: College Hoops Fans Criticize LeBron James Over Cooper Flagg Comments

Cooper Flagg is not only projected to be the no.1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, but he’s also seen as the league’s upcoming star.

The Duke star just spent one season playing college basketball and is now ready to move on to the NBA.

Talking about Flagg’s projected landing spot, during the latest episode of the “Mind the Game” podcast with Steve Nash, LeBron James said that he believes Flagg wants to be great and even appreciated his thrilling year with Duke.

He further shared that Flagg will benefit from potentially joining the Mavericks as they have stars like Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and Anthony Davis unlike what happened to him when he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, which was a rebuilding team at the time.

His comments drew reactions from fans.

“They knew LeBron was easily gonna pass Jordan when they saw high school LeBron school MJ back at the ABCD Camp. That’s why they forced him to a trash team and complicit franchise to start his career,” one fan wrote.

“LeBron is such a baby man,” another fan took a jab at the Lakers star.

“This is what we’ve been saying and I’m glad LeBron agrees. Everyone thinks him going to a trash team is somehow better for him than being mentored by 4 hall of famers on the Mavs. Can’t wait,” another fan added.

“He joined hall of fame players in Miami and CLE, then they traded for AD and Russel to join him in LA! No one else has been coddled so much!,” another fan made his thoughts clear.

“Cooper Flagg has a chance to win more rings with Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis than LeBron James did combined,” another fan made a bold prediction.

“Already creating a narrative if cooper ever comes in conversation of GOAT,” another fan claimed.

Brian Scalabrine Makes Bold Cooper Flagg and LeBron James Comparisons

As Cooper Flagg prepares for potentially one of the most important nights of his life, former NBA star Brian Scalabrine minced no words while already predicting his fate to be like LeBron James.
Scalabrine shared that while James is a super athlete, Flagg is a great athlete. However, he still believes that Flagg’s ability to run point is similar to James, while also highlighting the fact that they’re both 6’8 guards.
“LeBron’s a freak of nature defensively, [Flagg] is a freak of nature defensively. LeBron can run point, [Flagg] can run point. 6’8″ point guard, 6’8″ point guard. He trends like that, more than a shooting guard or Kawhi Leonard, or anything like that. He doesn’t want to say it, but that’s what it’s gonna be,” he said, as per Yahoo Sports.
