‘Biblical Levels of Greed’ – Hoops Fans Explode Over OKC Thunder’s Reported Top-10 Draft Push

The OKC Thunder’s relentless pursuit of the draft has reached another level. There are reports over social media that the 2025 NBA champion is finding a move into the top 10 of the 2025 NBA draft, holding picks at 15, 24 and 44.

The Thunder under general manager Sam Presti is looking at all possible means to secure highly hyped prospects in this year’s draft. Fans consider the strategy as the type of greed stated in the bible.

In an X post made by NBA Central, fans poured in their thoughts regarding the Thunder’s draft strategy. Vettmoney tweeted, “Biblical levels of greed.”

TheLakersForum echoed the same thoughts, “This is the greed that was talked about in the Bible.”

Another, from SportsTrollerX, questioned, “No team will be dumb enough to let them do that right?”

Conversely, some fans, like SportsTalkNoah in a related thread, praised the Thunder’s strategy. “They’re building a dynasty not a one and done like the past champions.”

This divide is further illustrated by HeatHound, who stated, “Presti is cooking too much for the rest of the league.”

Meanwhile, TheShamaLlama asked, “What else do they need???”

The Thunder’s draft push is a big gamble. If they land another star in 2025, their young core could dominate the West for years, cementing Presti’s legacy as a master strategist.

However, as fans’ viewpoints show, there is a growing unease that makes it seem nearly impossible even when it is allowed.

Will the NBA introduce caps on draft pick accumulation to preserve parity, or will OKC’s success inspire other teams to emulate their model? The answers lie in how this saga unfolds.

OKC Thunder have a plethora of draft picks in the coming years

The OKC Thunder are coming off a championship on Sunday, and by definition, they seem to have the best squad in the NBA. Things are expected to only get better for Oklahoma as it has three picks in this year’s draft.

The abundance of richness doesn’t stop there as they have a total of 22 picks over the next five drafts, including the one starting Wednesday night.

The Thunder are also expected to add Nikola Topic, the 12th pick from 2024, next season. He missed the entire 2024-25 season after undergoing surgery to fix a partially torn ACL that he suffered in May 2024.
