‘My Guys Made $6B in NBA’ : HC John Calipari Drops Wild Flex on Pat McAfee Show

John Calipari is flexing his accomplishments. The Arkansas Razorbacks coach recently appeared on the “Pat McAfee Show” and revealed how much his former players have made in the NBA.

“Can I throw a humble brag out there? My guys have made $6 billion in the NBA,” Calipari said.

Using DeMarcus Cousins as an example, Calipari said he had no hard feelings toward players who left his team to enter the NBA Draft. Cousins played under Calipari at the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2009-10 season before joining the Sacramento Kings.

”I don’t be grudging anybody. DeMarcus Cousins told me back in the day, he said, ‘What should I do? Should I put my name in the draft?,’” Calipari recalled. “I said, ‘If you want to do what’s right for you and your family, you put your name in that draft. If you want to do what’s right for me and my family, why don’t you stay for a couple more years?’”

NCAA analyst gives John Calipari’s Arkansas team “benefit of doubt”

Jon Rothstein has high hopes for John Calipari’s Arkansas squad next season. In an Instagram video posted earlier this month, the CBS Sports analyst discussed what the Razorbacks can accomplish next season.

Rothstein analyzed how the Razorbacks’ returning players could lead the team to success next season.

“When I’m looking at teams who are returning large portions of personnel, I always tend to give those teams the benefit of the doubt,” Rothstein said. “I know we live in a day and age right now where everybody loves the portal adds … but I’m looking at Arkansas now.”

Rothstein weighed in on Arkansas’ impressive March Madness run last season and pointed to their postseason success as another reason why Calipari’s team could thrive this coming season.

“I’m looking at a team that had a lead comfortably over Texas Tech in the Sweet 16 before Texas Tech came back and went to the Elite Eight in overtime in San Francisco,” Rothstein said. “I’m looking at Arkansas as being undervalued a bit in the SEC.”

Finally, Rothstein shared his thoughts on what the Razorbacks could achieve this coming season.

“I think Arkansas, without question, should enter next season in the discussion of being the second-best team in the SEC behind Florida,” Rothstein said.

Calipari’s Arkansas team will aim to make the most of next season and prove Rothstein right.
