Kentucky was the first school to offer Oladotun a scholarship in September. Since then, he has picked up offers from elite programs including Arkansas, BYU, Florida, Indiana, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Oregon, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USA, and Villanova.
On the same day the contact period began, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope and assistant Jason Hart connected with Oladotun’s family, according to KSR+.
Despite the flood of interest, all communication goes through his father, Ibrahim Oladotun.
“I definitely want to handle all the calls,” Ibrahim told KSR+ in May. “I want him to focus on just being a kid and keep working. I’m going to handle that. We’re going to tell everyone the same thing. I mean, he’s 16. Remember, he’s 16.
“Some of these kids are 18 years old. We’re going to listen to what everybody has to say and let them know what we’re looking for. Then, we’ll go from there.”

Reflecting on Kentucky’s early offer, his father shared,
“I was blown away. It almost brought me to tears,” he told KSR+. “Everything that’s happening to him is very historic. That’s just remarkable. Kentucky basketball, bluegrass, and all of that stuff are a big deal. It’s living the dream.”
He is the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2027 On3 Industry Ranking and ranks No. 9 nationally in On3’s ratings. His versatility on both ends of the floor has earned him comparisons to NBA star Kevin Durant, who sponsors Oladotun’s AAU team.
