Looking to make a little money on Memphis? Is the Green Wave a metaphor for the cash flowing into your bank account after backing Tulane? If you’re going to take advantage of the Memphis vs. Tulane odds, consider some of the following factors before you part with your hard-earned cash.
Fun fact: Tulane hasn’t won in Memphis since 1998. The Green Wave actually trail by 10 games in the head-to-head record after the Tigers dominated the matchup for the best part of this millennium. Over the past six years, the teams have traded blows, holding home field advantage since 2017 — including a 38-28 win for Willie Fritz’s one year ago.
Despite the above information, the Green Wave is favored coming into the game, and our Memphis vs. Tulane prediction details why we think backing the reigning Cotton Bowl champions is the smart play here. The two teams have always played high-scoring games, and as such the 56 point over/under is there for the smashing.
Finally for the Memphis vs. Tulane odds element of our preview, can you trust Tulane to cover the spread? Memphis failed to cover in the only game where they were an underdog this fall, and the Green Wave has covered in both games where they were a single-digit favorite so far in 2023.

There are three college football games on Friday to compile your DFS team from in Week 7.
If you’re new to DFS, Fanduel Superflex contests require you to select a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, and a “superflex” that can be any of the above. Or you can also select a tight end for the Superflex spot.
With Shedeur Sanders in action on Friday night, your Memphis vs. Tulane picks aren’t likely to include the quarterback position.
You could consider Michael Pratt or Seth Henigan for the superflex position, but then you could also consider Fresno State’s Mikey Keene against what has been a porous Utah State defense. Player values will likely dictate that decision because…
Although Tulane’s rushing defense has been good this season, you’re going to want to save some DFS cap space to be able to afford Memphis running back Blake Watson. The former Old Dominion rusher has been electric for the Tigers this season and is the highest-scoring non-quarterback fantasy asset in the AAC.
Our Memphis vs. Tulane prediction suggests a high-scoring affair, so who’s scoring all the points? Tulane RB Makhi Hughes is going off a monster game and could fit into the RB2 role in your DFS lineup. Lawrence Keys III leads Tulane in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, so try and make some space for the Green Wave receiver. Roc Taylor is also an option.
Prediction for Memphis vs. Tulane
Okay, so we’ve furnished you with Memphis vs. Tulane odds and some DFS picks. Now, it’s time to close this thing out with our prediction.
With both teams at 4-1 and both considered an AAC title contender, who gets the advantage on Friday night?
Is Tulane still the team to beat in the AAC, or are the Tigers ready to pounce on the carcass of the Green Wave’s NY6 dreams?
Led by one of the better quarterbacks in college football, the Memphis offense came into the season with high expectations, and they’ve pretty much lived up to them so far.
Whether it’s been Henigan hitting a plethora of pass catchers or the electric play of running back Watson, they’re yet to score less than 27 while averaging 36.6 points per game — ranking 18th overall.
The defense has hardly been shabby, averaging 21.4 points per game allowed, which ranks third in the AAC. Linebackers Chandler Martin and Geoff Cantin-Arku fly to the football, and as a unit, the Tigers have forced the second most fumbles of any team in the conference. On their day, they’re downright dangerous to know.
However, in a game that should be close but high-scoring, the team with the defensive advantage should emerge victorious and there’s no doubt that honor rests with Tulane.
Patrick Jenkins has been one of the best defensive tackles in the country, and a stellar secondary is led by Lance Robinson and Jarius Monroe.
For as long as the defense remains solid — allowing just 17.4 points alongside 2.60 rushing yards per carry given up — and QB Pratt continues to be at the top of his game, Tulane will sit at the top of the AAC. Roll Wave.
Prediction: Memphis 27, Tulane 34
