Class of 2027 Ohio State WR commit Jamier Brown recently turned heads in a 100-meter dash race, nearly breaking a historic record as he gears up for his final high school season before joining Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day and the team in Columbus, Ohio, next season.
Brown headlines Ohio State’s 2027 recruiting class as a five-star talent, joined by quarterback Brady Edmunds. The Buckeyes continue to build momentum with a busy weekend of visits, including a potential four-star wide receiver who could complement the speedster in the future.

“Just for comparison, Parris Campbell’s fastest recorded time in the 100-meter dash is 10.77 seconds,” he explained, comparing the wide receiver prospect to another Ohio State talent who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to smashing the time set by the former Buckeyes talent, Brown also almost broke an Ohio high school state record in the 100M dash (10.25 seconds). However, he missed out on etching his name in history by .11 seconds.

One of the top sprinters in Ohio, Brown previously had a personal best of 10.47 seconds in the 100-meter dash this spring, meaning his times have been improving over the last few months.
On the football side, the five-star recruit is one of the top prospects in the entire country. According to On3 Sports, Brown is the third-best prospect in the class of 2027, the No. 1 wide receiver, and a sophomore high school All-American with 63 receptions for 1,035 yards (16.4 YPC) and 13 touchdowns.
Along with Brown, Ohio State also secured the recruitment of four-star quarterback Brady Edmunds. The Buckeyes also recently lined up visits for two more top prospects: four-star wide receiver Monhsun Sales and five-star tight end Brock Williams.
“Four-star wide receiver Monshun Sales out of Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North will be one of two highly ranked pass catchers at Ohio State this weekend,” wrote On3 Sports. “The Buckeyes offered the 6’3″, 180-pound Sales in May. He has already visited twice, for a spring practice in April and a game last season.”
The Buckeyes will have to compete with multiple other schools for Sales. If they manage to secure the services of the Indianapolis prospect, then they could potentially have a top wide receiver duo to replace Jeremiah Smith as he prepares to enter the NFL in 2027.
