In 2024-25, Giffa averaged 14.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, earning All-Big South First-Team honors for the second straight year. His scoring skills and playmaking made him a highly wanted prospect in the transfer portal.
Initially, Giffa pledged to USC under Eric Musselman, but after a visit to Oxford, he chose Ole Miss over Florida, Memphis, and Oklahoma State.
After a Sweet 16 run in 2024, Ole Miss faced a roster overhaul with key seniors graduating and young talent departing via the transfer portal. Coach Beard, known for his recruiting skills, quickly and aggressively responded to fix the roster.
Giffa is the eighth transfer portal addition, joining headliner AJ Storr (formerly of Kansas), Louisville standouts Koren Johnson and James Scott, Kentucky’s Travis Perry, and LSU’s Corey Chest.
According to reports, this group has elevated Ole Miss’ 2025-26 roster to one of the top-rated rosters in the nation. Giffa will be tried for a starting backcourt spot alongside Perry, Johnson, and returner Eduardo Klafke to bring a versatile scoring threat to a guard-heavy lineup.
Why Giffa’s Flip Matters?
Giffa’s decision to spurn USC for Ole Miss is proof of Beard’s recruiting masterclass. Griffin’s addition will further strengthen a backcourt that lost 60% of its scoring from 2024.His ability to create his own shot and facilitate could make him a linchpin in Beard’s fast-paced system.

With a top-rated roster and a coach who’s mastered the transfer portal, the Rebels seem to be all set to contend in the SEC and beyond. Giffa’s scoring, paired with Storr’s athleticism and Perry’s upside, gives Ole Miss a very versatile and dynamic core.
If Beard can harness this talent, another deep NCAA Tournament run is within reach for the Rebels.
