The Texas Longhorns continue to be aggressive on the recruit trail, even if it means trying to sign a 14-year-old offensive lineman.
After the Ohio State Buckeyes dismantled the Longhorns up front in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff, head coach Steve Sarkisian is not messing around.
Texas Attempts to Add 14-Year-Old Tackle
According to Orangebloods.com, Texas has already offered 2028 offensive tackle Jai’storm Knight.
Not only is Knight just 14 years of age, but he stands at 6’8″ and weighs a whopping 340 pounds.
Anytime a school offers a 14-year-old offensive lineman, that just shows you how talented a player he is.

College football insider Anwar Richardson broke down this move from Texas on The Old Fashioned Sports Show, saying:
“I’m fascinated by this kid going into his sophomore year…How often have you seen, especially even with (Steve Sarkisian), them going after a guy that early?”
Knight appears to be one of the most talented players in the country at his age, which is why the Longhorns are interested in him.
The Converse, Texas native has also received offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Florida, Georgia State, and Kansas.
It will be interesting to see if the Longhorns can find a way to get the inside track on him.
Why Texas is Looking to Address the Offensive Line?
The game against Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl was a microcosm of the Longhorns’ issues along the offensive line.
Sarkisian’s offense only managed 58 yards of rushing while former Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was sacked four times.
Ohio State was far more physical up front, which is why it was able to stifle the Longhorns’ offense.
The Buckeyes also forced Texas into two turnovers, including former Ohio State linebacker Jack Sawyer’s game-sealing pick-six.
But what does this have to do with a player who won’t be able to play college football for another three seasons?

This proves that head coach Sarkisian is serious about building up the strength in the trenches.
After all, this is where games are won and lost, whether it is high school, college, or even the National Football League.
If Sarkisian and Co. can find a way to get Knight to come to Austin, the Longhorns will be able to have a steady anchor on the end of their line.
