New $62M High School Stadium Shocks the Football World

The newly renovated, $62 million Phillip Beard Stadium will host the Buford Wolves’ home games in the 2025 season.

According to a recent video posted to Instagram by Front Office Sports, the stadium features 10,000 seats, at least 10 covered box sections, a parking structure, a jumbotron that is “nearly as large as the SEC standard,” and a pedestrian bridge connected to the school.

It also has six practice fields and a separate junior varsity field, all built in just eight months.

Buford High School, located less than 40 miles northeast of Atlanta, has established itself as a powerhouse in Georgia and national high school football. Since 2018, the Wolves haven’t lost more than two games in a single season, compiling an impressive 65-8 record over the past six years.

That stretch includes three consecutive state championships from 2019 to 2021, contributing to their total of 14 state titles. In 2024, Buford finished 12-2 and ranked No. 3 in ITG Next’s final Class 6A Georgia rankings.

The 2025 season opener on August 15 will see Buford host the Milton Eagles in a highly anticipated rematch. It is the second installment of a two-year home-and-away series.

Senior quarterback Dayton Raiola, who passed for 1,953 yards and 19 touchdowns last season, will lead the offense. Dayton has committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where he will join his older brother, Dylan Raiola, also a former Buford quarterback.

With the unveiling of their state-of-the-art stadium, the Wolves hope to add more silverware to their already packed trophy case, soon to be displayed in a grand concourse.
