East Carolina 2025 Football Schedule: Full List of Pirates’ Opponents, Dates, and Key Matchups

East Carolina ended the 2024 season with an 8-5 record and a bowl game win. They finished with a .615 overall win percentage. In conference play, the Pirates went 5-3 and held their own at home with 4-2. They did that while keeping things pretty okay on the road with 3-3. They even had one win at a neutral site. That is not bad for a team that looked completely adrift a season ago.

List 2025 East Carolina Pirates Opponents

Just a year ago, East Carolina was sitting at a brutal 2-10. They looked lost at sea. But in 2024, the Pirates had managed to navigate the tides. They were plundering. And that is all thanks to their gutsy coaching changes, bold offensive tweaks, and a quarterback switch that finally clicked. But there were issues, too.

The offensive coordinator, John David Baker, came in with a Lane Kiffin pedigree and a love for playing fast and aggressive. His high-tempo offense worked at times but often left the defense running on fumes due to a consistent time-of-possession disadvantage.

After that opening 42-point game against Norfolk State, the offense went quiet, really quiet, for several weeks. But October changed things.

Katin Houser took over under center, and suddenly the sails caught wind. The re-shuffled O-line gave him better protection, and Blake Harrell, the then-interim head coach, let the offense off the leash.

Trick plays, deep balls, and gutsy fourth-down calls started flying. Harrell went 4-1 as interim. And of course, the job was his after that. But there is no denying that there is still work to be done.

The defense took a hit with key players like Isaiah Brown-Murray, Zakye Barker, and C.J. Mims entering the transfer portal. In addition, they lost CB Shavin Revel early in the year. ECU’s defense will need a serious lift.

On the offensive side, they’ll miss WR Chase Sowell, who was Houser’s go-to guy. But the remaining weapons still pack a punch, so all hope is not dead just yet.

The 2025 schedule is out and does not look easy for ECU. So what’s in store for 2025? Let’s break it down.
