Analyst Names Surprising QB1 Over Arch Manning for 2025 Season

The University of Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Manning has been heavily prized by college football experts. Still, he didn’t get the top slot on a list of the best signal-callers provided by Fox Sports Analyst Joel Klatt. That honor goes to Clemson University quarterback Klubnik.

“I’m a big believer in Clemson, mainly because I think Cade Klubnik is going to be the best quarterback in college football next year,” Klatt said during the latest episode of The Joel Klatt Show. “I think Cade is tremendous. A year ago, there were real questions going into the season about Klubnik. Would he be able to lead Clemson? What were they going to be, in particular, throwing on the outside? And now they get him back.”

Klubnik had a strong junior season with the Tigers, throwing for 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns with six interceptions, a 63.4% completion rate, and 463 rushing yards and seven additional touchdowns, according to data compiled by The Clemson Insider.

Klatt isn’t down on Manning, stating he has a stronger arm than former Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers. “While Manning doesn’t have experience, sitting and learning the last two seasons should be valuable and will allow him to hit the ground running,” he said of the 6-foot-4, 226-pound signal-caller.

Klubnik’s potential to build on his strong 2024 season has Klatt mightily impressed. He said, “It’s going to be really tough for me not to go into next season and say my Heisman pick before the year is not Cade Klubnik.”

The two quarterbacks could face each other in the College Football Playoff to settle the debate at the end of the 2025 season.
