Anthony Davis Donning Klutch Sports Gear Shows Up at Pro Day in LA To Scout Some Draft Prospects From the 2025 NBA Draft

With the 2025-26 NBA Playoffs narrowed down to the final four teams competing in the Eastern and Western Conference finals, many teams are already in offseason mode. Two notable franchises that are missing are the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The early start to the offseason for both has brought some big things, specifically for Dallas, which landed a major win by securing the top pick in the 2025 NBA Draft lottery. That bit of fortune may have subtly played into an interesting moment on Wednesday at the Lakers’ training facility, which hosted the Klutch Sports Pro Day.

Anthony Davis Shows Up At Pro Day In Los Angeles To Scout Some 2025 NBA Draft Prospects

The event featured several of the 2025 NBA Draft’s top prospects, which included Khaman Maluach, Walter Clayton Jr., and one of the top players from China, Hansen Yang. This drew a bunch of NBA executives to the Pro Day, such as Mavericks general manager, Nico Harrison.

However, what really turned a lot of heads was the appearance of former Lakers star turned Mavericks star, Anthony Davis. Davis was in the building for the Pro Day as well, sporting a Dallas Mavericks hat. His showing comes just a few months after the blockbuster trade, which saw the Lakers send Davis and others to Dallas for Luka Doncic. Davis’s appearance and attire were entirely noteworthy.

Fans chimed in on X, formerly known as Twitter, just the way you’d expect them to. One fan wrote, “Bring my guy back,” as another wrote, “Weird seeing AD in Mavs gear out in LA…” Some were nicer, sending their love to Davis, as one fan wrote, “I miss u.”

Davis joined the Lakers organization as a part of a blockbuster trade during the summer of 2019. He spent roughly six seasons with the franchise, playing a huge role in helping them capture the 2020 NBA Championship.

In a very surprising move, the general manager of the Lakers, Rob Pelinka, jumped at the opportunity to trade for Doncic. However, to make the deal happen, Davis would have to be included. This was something he reportedly wasn’t aware of until just moments before the trade was announced.

Despite the unexpected departure, Davis finds himself in a very good spot with the Dallas Mavericks alongside Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson. With the Mavericks now expected to land Duke standout Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, they may have one of the best overall rosters in the 2025-26 season.
