Plenty of changes are coming to college football in the future. One of the new changes is the limit on each roster.

Why Matt Rhule Is Taking a Transparent Approach to Roster Cuts at Nebraska
Once the House settlement is approved, each college football team is projected to have a cut-off of 105 people. Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule recently spoke about the impact of this new rule change, saying:
“(The players) can make decisions…They don’t want to leave…I almost feel like an agent sometimes when I’m helping some of our guys right now.”
It seems that Rhule is doing his best to ensure the safety of his players, regardless of whether or not they will still be playing in Lincoln this Fall.
Still, the tough part about the sport now is that there are only so many roster spots for players. Those players now have to decide on their best destination.
Rhule Continues to Positively Impact Nebraska
While this new rule could be a bad beat for certain players, Nebraska should be thrilled with how Rhule has handled the situation. In fact, the school should be proud of everything that he has done during his time in Lincoln.
Despite a tough first season in 2023, the Cornhuskers were able to rally and make a bowl game for the first time since 2016 last year.
While it has been a slow incline, Rhule is poised to lead the Huskers to even better things this season.
Perhaps they could even contend in the Big Ten. But first and foremost, Rhule’s biggest responsibility is his players.
Even if some will not be playing for him in the Fall because of the new roster cap, he still wants to make sure that they are okay moving forward. That is the sign of a great leader and someone who parents can trust when sending their kids to go play college football.
