The 5-star point guard Dylan Mingo has been making waves on the Nike EYBL circuit, recently delivering a jaw-dropping 31-point performance against Team Herro. His dominant showing has skyrocketed his stock, reinforcing why hundreds of college scouts have been tracking his every move.
However, he seems to clearly know which team is best for him to join in the future. So, he has narrowed down his recruitment offers. Now, with his final five offers locked in, Auburn and Baylor continue to push hard for his commitment.

Auburn, Baylor Survive the Final Cut as Dylan Mingo Narrows His Recruitment List
The battle for five-star point guard Dylan Mingo is intensifying as the No. 1-ranked PG in the 2026 class narrows his college recruitment choices. Previously holding more than 10 offers, Mingo has now filtered down his final five schools: Alabama, Texas, Louisville, Auburn, and Baylor.

Mingo, a 6’5″ playmaker, has been a standout performer in high school and AAU circuits, impressing scouts with his defensive intensity, court vision, and scoring ability. His recruitment process has been highly competitive, with several top programs vying for his commitment.
As a native of Brookville, New York, Mingo has carefully evaluated his options before narrowing his list. Last year, 247Sports reported that he had offers from Alabama, St. John’s, Texas, Washington, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Missouri, Providence, and more.
However, after thorough consideration, he has now locked in discussions exclusively with Alabama, Texas, Louisville, Auburn, and Baylor.
Among these, Baylor and Auburn seem to be his favorites. Reports say the standout PG is drawn to Auburn’s defensive style because it matches his aggressive play. At the same time, Baylor’s success in developing top guards keeps them strong in his mind. Mingo has made it clear that defense and coaching will heavily influence his final choice.

His reputation soared after an impressive performance at the Nike EYBL stop in Memphis. Over the four-game stretch, the five-star recruit averaged 20.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game, shooting 41.8% from the field. His relentless pressure on the rim and ability to control the pace of the game earned him On3’s MVP honors for the event.
While his final choice will undoubtedly be a game-changer, it doesn’t seem like his commitment decision is coming anytime soon.
Mingo has stated that he will take his time before making a final commitment, ensuring that he chooses a program that fits his style of play and long-term development goals.
