Former Colorado Speedster Jimmy Horn Jr. Turning Heads with Explosive Playmaking

According to reports, Horn has taken the Panthers’ wide receiver room “by storm” and has outperformed nearly every other wide receiver since joining the team.

He may even have a chance to take over veteran Adam Thielen’s spot on the depth chart if he continues his trend. It has been his ability to create separation that has opened the eyes of many coaches and scouts.

Horn has been compared to the likes of NFL speedsters such as DeSean Jackson and Tyreek Hill. That is how dangerous he is with the ball in his hands.

Now, it will be interesting to see if he can continue his impressive play into the summer or not.

    Horn Jr. at Colorado

The reason the Panthers made the move to select Horn in the sixth round is because of the promise he showed in Boulder and during his college career as a whole.

A former transfer from South Florida, Horn showed off his elite play-making ability down the field early and often in his collegiate career. He averaged 12.1 yards per reception during his college career, which means that he knows how to get open and provide a great option for the quarterback.

In two years at Colorado, he recorded a total of 1,008 yards on 95 receptions. Standing at just 5’9″ and weighing 160 pounds, Horn Jr. certainly played bigger than his size.

Now, he has the chance to shine with a franchise that is desperately looking for some more firepower.

If the Panthers can get a DeSean Jackson or Tyreek Hill-like effect from Horn, they could give some opposing defenses trouble. No one is expecting anything big from them as they still have the look of a team that is in rebuild mode.

But with Horn Jr. possibly making a splash in the wide receiver room, Carolina might be more formidable than most may think heading into the year.
