Which Veteran Players Are Returning to Play At Wisconsin In 2025?

While head coach Luke Fickell’s team didn’t have a great season last year, many familiar faces will be back with the program in 2025.

Here are 10 of the top players who are coming back to Madison:

    10. S Preston Zachman

Zachman is one of the better backend defenders in the conference, especially when you consider his vision and ability to locate the football.

Look for him to lock down the opposing passing game once again this upcoming season.

    9. DT Ben Barten

Barten decided to come back and play in the trenches for his fifth and final season at Wisconsin.

The defensive line has always been a strength for both the school and wherever Fickell has been, which is why Barten coming back to get after the quarterback could boost the strength of this team.

    8. CB Nyzier Fourqurean

Fourqurean was granted one more year of eligibility by the NCAA.

He recorded 51 total tackles, five pass deflections, and an interception last season, which is very hard to replace.

    7. LB Christian Alliegro

The Badgers love to churn out quality linebackers year in and year out, and Alliegro is exactly that.

He can play all over the field, and he even led the team in sacks a season ago.

If he can replicate that production, teams will have difficulty trying to score on the Badgers’ defense.

    6. LB Aaron Witt

Witt is another veteran leader looking to make his presence felt one more time by the Badgers faithful.

The soon-to-be senior linebacker recorded 28 total tackles last season but has the chance to be even better this Fall.

    5. QB Braedyn Locke

Locke didn’t do anything special last season from a statistical perspective under center, but he got plenty of experience for the first time in his college career. If he can cut down his 10 interceptions from 2024, he could be a problem for opposing defenses.

    4. WR Vinny Anthony II

Anthony led the team in receiving last year (39 receptions for 672 yards and four touchdowns).

If he can increase those outputs as a senior, the Badgers’ passing offense could be one of the best in the country in 2025.

    3. DL Elijah Hills

Hills was a force on the interior as he also recorded three sacks for Fickell’s defense last Fall.

This is going to be his show as a senior, which is why the Badgers could have an elite run defense, especially if he stays healthy.

    2. RB Tawee Walker

Walker rushed for over 860 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior in 2024.

Now, it is time for him to go out with a bang as a senior. Look for the Las Vegas native to come close to rushing for over 1,000 yards and 10+ scores this year.

    1. CB Ricardo Hallman

Hallman led the conference in interceptions in 2023 with seven and decided to return to Madison after a less-than-ideal 2024. He is a shutdown cornerback that should not be tested if you are an opposing quarterback looking to be a hero.
