Cooper Flagg has already generated plenty of attention, and at just 18 years old, he’s a widely known talent. Although his twin brother Ace doesn’t command as much buzz, he still has significant hype.
Ace has garnered plenty of headlines as the hype surrounding the youngster builds leading into the start of his freshman campaign. This has led many to question if Ace is just as good as his brother Cooper. Ace has earned collegiate interest in his own right; the 18-year-old chose Maine over the likes of West Virginia, Richmond, and George Washington.
How the Flagg Brothers’ Skill Sets Compare
Ace and Cooper Flagg are arguably the best basketball twin talents in the world right now. Cooper is considered a generational talent, and he boasts exceptional abilities that have earned him the No. 2 prospect spot in the 2025 class.
Standing at 6’8″ and weighing 195 lbs, Cooper’s impressive stats include 25.4 points, 5.7 assists, and 13 rebounds per game in the Peach Jam Tournament. Unlike Ace, Cooper reclassified into the 2024 class to play for Duke this year.
On the other hand, Ace doesn’t have as much attention as his brother. But at 6’7″ and 180 lbs, Ace’s strengths include his shooting ability, shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc and 58.3% from the floor in the Peach Jam Tournament.
Ace is also a well-rounded player who contributes to scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks. With his commitment to the University of Maine, Ace is expected to be a game-changer at the next level, possibly even a second-round selection in the 2026 or ’27 NBA Draft. Ace is ranked as a 3-star prospect in the 2025 class.
Cooper’s impressive stats and ranking have seen many people regard him as the better player between the pair. However, Ace’s all-around skills and potential make him a compelling prospect in his own right.
Is Ace as Good as Cooper?
Ace and Cooper are two entirely different players. Unlike Cooper, Ace started playing basketball at a later age, but he’s still good enough to play at a D-I school.
Ace also has the frame to play either forward spot at the next level. However, because he grew up playing with Cooper, Ace often was relegated to post duty, meaning he’s comfortable rebounding inside and finishing.

Cooper is a more versatile and well-rounded player than Ace, and as a result, it is hard to say if Ace is as good as he is. Both brothers have unique strengths and abilities that set them apart, and they both appear destined for the top.
