The 19-year-old 6’4″ guard will return next season to play for the Florida Gators, with whom she spent her freshman season in NCAA basketball. Me’arah did not enter the transfer portal like her older brother Shaquir, who went from Florida A&M to Sacramento.
The younger O’Neal played in 35 games for the Gators last season, starting only eight and averaging 13.6 minutes per game. Her season records included 4.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game, shooting 42.5% on two-point shots, 27.7% from the perimeter, and 74.5% on free throws.
Florida finished the SEC regular season with a record of five wins and 11 losses (19 and 18 overall). Despite these results, they reached the quarterfinals of the conference tournament, where they lost to LSU 101-87.
