Lane Kiffin Reacts to Son Knox’s Latest Football Move

Kiffin’s connection to Oxford goes beyond football—it’s all about family. His daughter, Landry, was a big reason he decided to stay at Ole Miss, and now his son, Knox, is following in her footsteps. With Knox transferring to Oxford High School, Kiffin couldn’t hide his excitement.

According to recent reports by On3, Knox Kiffin is joining the Oxford High School (MS) football team and will start attending on June 2. On3’s high school X account shared the news: “2028 QB Knox Kiffin is set to join the Oxford High School (MS) football team on June 2nd. Knox is the son of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.”

Previously, Knox played at Palos Verdes High School in California. As he enters his sophomore season, his move closer to his father and the Ole Miss football program is set to be an exciting new chapter for the 2028 quarterback prospect.

Following the news, Kiffin excitedly reacted on Twitter, writing, “LFG. The band is all back together 🏡. Pops is smiling.” Not to mention, he can now closely monitor his son’s growth as a rising NFL prospect. This clearly shows that Knox has the full vocal support of his dad, and now that he’s heading to Oxford, he will surely benefit from extra guidance from the Ole Miss coach.

At 6’0” and 170 pounds, Knox will now compete for a spot on a team that went 6-5 last season and ranked 35th in the state. It’s a fresh chance for him to shine and prove himself on a bigger stage, especially since we didn’t see much varsity action last season in California.

He is making this move at a crucial time. Already, he’s received seven college football offers from schools like FIU, SMU, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, Sacramento State, and Murray State—that kind of attention points to a promising future.

So, at this pivotal point, moving to SEC territory is a wise decision. With three years left in high school, Knox Kiffin has a golden opportunity to grow. Seeing how he lives up to everyone’s hopes will be interesting.
