Davon Benjamin Nears Decision After Busy Spring

Benjamin has had a busy spring preparing to decide on his future. Multiple reports have shown that the 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback has visited about ten schools, including Miami, Washington, Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Texas.

The four-star prospect is among the most highly sought-after recruits in the 2026 class, and his impressive defensive performances helped Oaks Christian High School (California) reach the 2024 CIF Division II semifinals this year. Benjamin recorded nine pass breakups, eight interceptions, 85 total tackles, and three fumble recoveries in 24 combined games in his sophomore and junior years.

The cornerback is expected to make a commitment decision later in the summer, with reports indicating that he is keen to commit before his senior season. So, which schools are in pole position to land him? Below are the top 5 landing spots for the youngster.

Top 5 Landing Spots For Davon Benjamin

    1. USC

USC is leading the race for Benjamin’s commitment, and several reports have revealed that the youngster visited USC twice this spring. As a native of California, USC could be the perfect fit for the cornerback who has also been closely monitoring the Trojans’ progress.

    2. Washington

Washington has been keeping close tabs on Benjamin since last year. Assistant coaches Vinnie Sunseri (safeties) and John Richardson (cornerbacks) have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to convince the highly-rated cornerback to commit to the team.

    3. Ohio State

Ohio State expressed interest in Benjamin at the beginning of this month. Still, it is understood that they have made a strong impression on him, with the Buckeyes’ cornerbacks coach, Tim Walton, alongside safeties coach Matt Guerrieri, actively involved in talks with him.

The Oregon Ducks are also in the mix for the talented defensive back. Should Benjamin join Oregon, he would be coached by a team that relies heavily on that position. Due to his versatility, Benjamin would fit nicely with the Ducks’ system.

    5. Georgia

Georgia could be a good fit for Benjamin. The Bulldogs have a competitive SEC program and a talented roster. Their coaching staff emphasizes player development; hence, Georgia would offer Benjamin the opportunity to refine his skills and make an immediate impact.
