    Bill Belichick is all set to return to football, but this time, as the head coach of a college football team. The 73-year-old will be coaching the University of North Carolina this time. He was announced as the head coach of UNC last December.

    The footballing icon has achieved almost everything with six Super Bowls. Now that he has stepped forward to the collegiate ranks, everyone is curious how it will turn out for him with the college athletes. Meanwhile, a national analyst is all praise for the former New England Patriots boss.

    National Analyst Praises Bill Belichick And UNC Football 

    Belichick is already winning hearts ahead of the upcoming season with the recruiting process in college football. The UNC coach has been focusing on building an invincible squad at Chapel Hill.

    Meanwhile, Cooper Petagna, a national analyst, is impressed by Belichick and how he has landed huge team players at the transfer portal. During a recent episode of The Ultimate College Football Show of 247Sports, Petangna said, “I like what they’ve done, and I give Michael Lombardi a lot of credit. I didn’t know what it was going to look like.” 

    Petangna then decided to start by discussing the quarterback. While talking about Gio Lopez, he said, “I think a lot of people were maybe a little bit surprised that North Carolina that was the player that they targeted.” He continued, “Maybe we heard rumors about John Mateer. They took a big swing there. We thought Nico Iamaleava was going to be in play, and they just kind of laid up here. And what I mean by that, this isis a single or double.” 

    Returning Gio Lopez, the national analyst, at the aforementioned podcast said, “Gio Lopez is the guy that elevates the floor of North Carolina’s program.” While praising the former South Alabama Jaguars quarterback, he continued, “He’s going to be a guy that has experience that also gives a multi-year eligibility as well. And a guy that makes him competitive from day one.”

    Petangna also talked about D’Antre Robinson, another addition whom he “like a lot,” because of how the former Florida Gators player performed in his last season.

    He said, “So you look at North Carolina. This is a team that has a look and feel of a Bill Belichick who has an NFL-type degree.” Petanga is hopeful about the new opportunity Belichick is having with the type of team he is building.
