The Duke Blue Devils’ baseball team has been prowling the diamond since its founding back in 1903. Over the years, the team has experienced many struggles and wins, building a strong legacy in college baseball.
How has the program done over the years? Let’s take a look back at the Blue Devils’ baseball success.

How Has the Duke Blue Devils Baseball Team Performed Throughout Its History?
Since the conference’s founding in 1954, Duke has competed in the ACC alongside teams like North Carolina, Clemson, and Virginia.
During that time, the Blue Devils clinched regular-season conference titles in 1956, 1957, and 1961. As for the ACC Tournament, the team has won it all twice—in 2021 and 2024.
The team has made the NCAA Tournament 11 times in total. If they can make it in 2025, it would be three in a row and four in the last five years.
As far as winning a national title, Duke has never reached championship glory. While they have won their NCAA Regionals in 2018, 2019, and 2023, they haven’t made the College World Series since 1961.
In terms of next-level success, Duke has been a solid producer of MLB talent. According to the team’s Wikipedia page, prior to the 2021 MLB season, 36 former Duke stars had played in the MLB.

While Duke hasn’t seen consistent overall success since Steve Traylor led the team from 1988 to 1999, their current coach, Chris Pollard, has brought structure to the team since 2013 in the form of a 357-261 record in Durham, N.C.
The 2025 season is still ongoing — as of Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Blue Devils are 33-15 (14-10) — but in total, all-time, Duke has 1,928 wins, 1,644 losses, and 34 ties.
