Is LSU Entering The WRU Race? 2 ESPN Top 300 Recruits Add Fuel to the Fire

LSU has become a mainstay for some of the best wide receivers that the sport of college football has ever seen. Now, two ESPN Top 300 recruits add more fuel to the fire. The trend of some elite receivers coming through the doors of the LSU locker room is now set to continue.

Five-star recruit Tristen Keys and four-star recruit Jabari Mack, both members of the 2026 recruiting class, have made it known they are committing to LSU. Keys is the number one wide receiver recruit in the country, and he is bringing his talents to Baton Rouge for his college career. To say the potential is sky high would be an understatement.

Tristen Keys and Jabari Mack Ignite LSU’s Bid to Cement WRU Legacy

LSU’s already stacked wide receiver legacy is now set to receive another boost. Five-star recruit and No. 1 receiver in the country, Tristen Keys, and four-star recruit Jabari Mack will be joining the 2026 recruiting class. Both are expected to have an immediate impact on the program.

LSU is widely considered to be a top program in developing wide receivers. They have one of the strongest track records of producing NFL-caliber talent at that position. The Tigers have a long history of having talented and successful wide receivers, including names like Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, and Brian Thomas Jr.

LSU’s recent recruiting success, landing Keys and Mack, only further solidifies their position as a top destination for wide receiver prospects. Mack is ranked No. 64 on ESPN’s Top 300 list. Mack is the No. 8 ranked receiver in the nation, and is expected to have another immediate impact on the team.

“A big part of it for LSU is that stay-home mentality,” Mack said in February. “I hear that a lot from the coaches. I am always hearing from coach (Cortez) Hankton, coach (Joe) Sloan and coach (Frank) Wilson (III). The staff is cool, and I like coach Hankton a lot because he keeps it real. He develops receivers too. LSU is easy for me to get to, and I like the environment up there. It feels crazy on game day.”

LSU is highly regarded as the best wide receiver program. However, Ohio State and Alabama have been mentioned in the same breath as LSU. LSU has truly seen a who’s who of receivers come through the doors, and now it’s expected to see that Keys and Mack are looking to pick up where they left off.
