The Houston Texans may have made one of the steals of the draft by selecting Iowa State star wide receiver Jaylin Noel in the third round last month.
Draft analyst Todd McShay is very high on the 1,000-yard receiver.

Todd McShay Sees Major Upside in Texans WR Jaylin Noel
McShay recently spoke glowingly about Noel on The Ringer:

While there are some concerns about his smaller frame (5’10”, 194 pounds), McShay also noted how he believes Noel can be a quality slot receiver and eventual replacement for veteran receiver Christian Kirk.
The former All-Big 12 performer racked up 80 receptions for 1,194 yards and eight touchdowns in his final season in Ames in 2024.
Now, it appears as though he is ready to take the next step into a larger world.
Houston Texans Look Dangerous with Noel
The Texans are one of the more dangerous teams in the league, especially when quarterback C.J. Stroud is playing like rookie C.J. Stroud.
On offense, the team boasts great weapons in Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins, Kirk, a hopefully healthy Tank Dell, Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon, and Noel.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans has guided the franchise to back-to-back 10-win seasons and back-to-back first-place finishes in the AFC South. However, the team has not been able to make it past the second round of the playoffs because they play in such a loaded conference.
That is why it is crucial that they add help where they can get it.
Noel being available in the third round was one of those instances where it was impossible not to take him if you were the Texans. His value as a route-runner and as an explosive weapon is what separates him from a lot of rookie wide receivers.

Texans fans are going to have their eyes on a lot of key players this season. If ever there was a rookie that the fans should pay attention to, it would be the former Cyclone in Noel.
