The Duke Blue Devils and head Coach Jon Scheyer are on the hunt for a contributing recruit heading into next season; a four-star recruit may fill that role after completing an official visit.

Jon Scheyer and Blue Devils In the Running for Four-Star 2025 Forward
The Duke basketball program seemingly always has top-tier talent on the roster, as it’s become a one-and-done pathway for highly-rated recruits to stop for a year before entering the NBA Draft.

The names are aplenty in recent years: Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, Paolo Banchero, Jalen Johnson and most recently Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg.
Flagg may be the best among that entire group as a prospect, and with his departure, Scheyer and his staff are looking for the next great Blue Devils.
For the class of 2025, he’s already secured the commitment of the Boozer twins. While point guard Cayden is a four-star prospect per 247 Sports, Cameron stands 6’9″ and is a five-star and a consensus top-three rated player in the country.
He closely resembles Flagg as a small forward who can handle the ball, yet Boozer is much more hefty and will look to out-physical opposing defenders more than Flagg.
Scheyer continues to try to add to the talented core he already has, giving four-star small forward Braydon Hawthorne an official visit this past weekend.
Hawthorne is from Huntington, West Virginia, and is lengthy but has a slight frame at 6’8″, 175 pounds. He also holds high-end offers from Kentucky and West Virginia. Extremely athletic, he’s comfortable putting the ball on the floor and possesses guard skills despite his valuable positional size. Clearly, his lack of strength and mass could be a problem but he has the frame to add in that aspect.

If he commits to Duke in the near future, he might not serve as a one-and-done prospect but instead as a longer-term player on the wing for Scheyer and the Blue Devils with the ability to develop into a bona fide star.
